WELCOME TO OUR ECOSYSTEM

Ecosystem Overview

The Ecosystem is a collaborative effort of four different organizations with three different missions, but one shared vision for the disenfranchised citizens of the Greater Richmond Area. Atlantic Outreach Group (AOG), HYPE Counseling Services (HYPE) and Central Virginia’s Preferred Providers (CVPP) have nearly 30 years of combined experience promoting social change, development, cohesion, and the empowerment of people and communities.

With a clear and in-depth understanding of human development, behavior, and the social, economic, and cultural factors involved in successfully addressing the needs of individuals and families, the three agencies realized that a system of care was needed. An “Ecosystem.”

So we took action: we grew, and we brought out additional services to meet those needs. We take pride in offering a wide array of services across multiple organizations all working together.

This collaborative approach provides us with a broad range of tools with which to address whatever challenges you are facing. We are determined to provide services that fit our clients rather than expecting our clients to fit our services.

HYPE Counseling Services has been providing mental and behavioral health treatment in Central Virginia since 2008.

It was then when practitioners-turned-owners, pioneered this practice with one mission: to “provide the right service to the right person at the right time.” HYPE began by delivering home-based, therapeutic behavioral modification services to children, adolescents, and their families.

We quickly realized, however, that in order to effectively empower the family unit, we would need to incorporate interventions designed for parents. With this newfound awareness, we eagerly designed an array of mental health rehabilitative services for adults, including skill building, skill training, case management, crisis stabilization, and substance abuse recovery. These services are provided on-site, within the community, and in secure residential settings.

All of HYPE’s services are CARF accredited and licensed by the Virginia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services. We have assembled a team of highly qualified and dedicated mental health professionals with a passion for giving back to the community.

Mental Health

Skill Building

Mental Health Skill Building (MHSB) consists of goal-directed training and other supports. This program is designed to restore individuals to the highest possible level of functioning, and to help them achieve and maintain community stability and independence - all in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment possible.

  • Functional skills and appropriate behavior related to the individual’s health and safety; instrumental activities of daily living, and use of community resources.

  • Assistance with understanding compliance to medication management

  • Monitoring health, nutrition, and physical condition with goals towards self-monitoring and self-regulation of all of these activities.

These services are designed for individuals 18 years of age and older with a history of serious mental illness, previous psychiatric hospitalization, and a prescription for anti-psychotic, mood stabilizing, or antidepressant medication issued within the past twelve (12) months.

Services are provided face-to face for as many as twelve (12) hours per week for an average of six (6) months to a year.
