Welcome to Our Ecosystem

The Ecosystem is a powerful collaboration of four organizations, each with a distinct mission but united by a shared vision: transforming the lives of disenfranchised individuals in the state of Virginia.

Atlantic Outreach Group (AOG), HYPE Counseling Services (HYPE), and Central Virginia’s Preferred Providers (CVPP) bring over 30 years of combined experience in driving social change, fostering community empowerment, and advocating for those in need.

There’s an old saying:
"You can’t fit a square peg into a round hole."

At The Ecosystem, we refuse to take a one-size-fits-all approach to care. When we first started, we offered a handful of services, but we quickly realized that our clients’ needs were far more diverse than what we could provide. Instead of forcing people into predetermined solutions, we took action.

We expanded. We evolved. We built a dynamic network of services designed to meet people where they are. By embracing integrated care and a whole person care approach, we ensure that individuals receive the right support that they need, and most importantly, at the right time!

“People will leave in a better condition than when they came to us. We are all about transformation and adding value to our community.”

– Shiloh Jones

Through collaboration across our multiple organizations, we’ve created a comprehensive support system that adapts to each person’s unique challenges. Because true care isn’t about making people fit into a system—it’s about building a system that truly fits the people it serves.

Helping YOU Pursue Excellence

At HYPE Counseling Services, we believe that true growth (and evolution) is a journey—one that demands dedication, compassion, and unwavering support. Founded in 2007, HYPE stands for Helping YOU Pursue Excellence, a philosophy that drives everything we do. Just as we strive to evolve into the best versions of ourselves, we empower our clients to achieve a better quality of life.

For nearly two decades, we’ve provided exceptional care rooted in compassion and positive energy. Our dedicated team of mental health and substance use professionals is committed to delivering services that meet the real, expressed needs of the individuals we serve. Every program we’ve developed is a direct response to what our clients have told us they need, ensuring our care is not only effective but truly impactful.

Specializing in both substance use treatment and mental health services, HYPE offers a comprehensive, integrated, “whole-person” care approach designed to meet people where they are. Our practitioners-turned-owners pioneered this approach with one mission: to provide the right service, to the right person, at the right time.

We are proud to be CARF-accredited and licensed by Virginia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, reflecting our unwavering commitment to exceptional quality care. At HYPE, our passion for helping others is matched only by our dedication to uplifting our community, one life at a time.

HYPE’s Community Stabilization Services:

The goal of HYPE’s of Community Stabilization services is to stabilize the individual within their community, and act as a transition service to heavily support the individual by meeting their greatest needs within the scope of service. This is a very short service, and acts as a bridge to link a person to their appropriate level of care, especially when they are stepping down from inpatient, facility-based services, emergency rooms, incarceration, or residential programs. The duration of services may include, but is not limited to, short-term assessment, crisis intervention, and care coordination. HYPE also uses this service as a step-down from higher levels.

In-Home (IIH) :

Intensive In-Home (IIH) services are intensive therapeutic interventions provided in the individual’s residence for children and adolescents under age 21. These services are designed to improve family functioning and address significant functional impairments in major life activities that have occurred due to the individuals’ mental, behavioral, or emotional illness in order to prevent an out-of-home placement, stabilize the individual, and gradually transition the individual to less restrictive levels of care and support.

Referred children and adolescents are often experiencing emotional and/or behavioral difficulties that cause distress in the home. They display an inability to recognize behaviors that present danger to self and others, or are returning from out-of-home placement.
